ABOUT PARACOSM

Paracosm is, as the name implies, my little paracosm: my lifelong maladaptive daydream where the silly little character I think about 24/7 can roam free and get into all sorts of boring intergalactic political proceedings. I've always loved storytelling and the many themes of science fiction; while I have multiple writing projects, Paracosm is my biggest and is the most dear to my heart. It's gone through many, many iterations -- but regardless of its form, it has always had moving on from loss and coping with tragedy after the fact as its main themes. Paracosm is about living despite; despite personal, physical, or global losses.
I originally came up with the main idea for Paracosm in middle school, where I came up with the idea of two friends traveling through pocket dimensions to save a dying planet. That evolved into the protagonist, Kell Ezradi, and the deuteragonist, Ari Keplari. From there, everything else slowly fell into place.
My inspirations for Paracosm come from science fiction cinema and various other influences. My favorite movies are the 1927 silent film Metropolis and the 1984 animated film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Add a little bit of Bioshock and you start to get the gist.
I'm excited to share the project I'm most passionate about and hope you take the time to read it and enjoy it!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hello! I'm a recent college graduate from the US and a prospective historical archaeologist. I have an academic interest in the historical archaeology of my home state, along with the Appalachian and southeastern regions of the United States, and I have a specialty in material culture analysis, particularly of glass and ceramic. I really love studying people's garbage from a hundred years ago. Something about it just scratches my brain. I currently work as a florist in my family's haunted flower shop (for real!), and if you're curious, my favorite flower is coxcomb celosia because it looks like brains. Along with that, I volunteer at a historical site as an archaeology field tech. Aside from writing, I have been teaching myself mountain dulcimer for the past few months, I love to play video games, and I enjoy drawing and reading.
